DailyPhotos > Christine  > Smugmug Galleries > Photo a Day (Project 365) > Photo a Day Project 2009

A Photo a Day (also known as Project 365) - What is it?? It's exactly what the name implies - a photo is posted each and every day for a full year. You can choose to impose whatever rules or criteria you wish- some photographers insist that the photo be taken the same day it's posted, others will post an older photo that they "Photoshop" the day they post it, and still others don't impose any rules at all. My goal for this project is to take several photos every day and choose the best from that day to post. I have been able to stick to it for the most part (with one or two exceptions so far). I carry my Nikon D300 wherever I go- it's now like one of my limbs. It's one of the most challenging things I've ever committed to doing but so far it's been well worth it. If you've got a minute to spare, go ahead and hit the slideshow button. And don't be shy about giving a photo a “thumbs up” or even commenting if you see something you like. :D

Lastly, for those visitors that aren't members of Smugmug, the photos posted to this gallery are critiqued by photographers that belong to the "Daily Community". If you click on the "DailyPhotos" link above (it's next to my name), you will be taken to a gallery with photos posted by other the members. There's a lot of beautiful work out there.... you can get lost for hours.

Christine > Day 141: Rail Road Tracks
May 21, 2009
There are other versions of this shot in my alternate POD gallery.

BTW - does anyone have a flickr account? Like it? Hate it? Worth the 25 bucks for the year? I have a membership with Photo.net but it expires at the end of this month and I won't be re-joining. The people on there aren't as nice as Smugmuggers lol!
Christine > Day 142: Savannah Window
May 22, 2009
I shot this photo in Savannah over a week ago but I just got around to processing it today. I loved the colors in it so I thought it was worth a slight cheat. :) I loved many, many things about Savannah, but the old houses, the detail work on so many of the buildings, the tree lined streets and the colors are at the top of my list. I loved that city. This photo is best viewed on Lg or XLg to get the full impact.

Also, thanks to everyone who answered my question about Flickr. I love Smugmug, but I found some really fun and interesting groups/pools to join. Maybe I should just create a group like one of the ones I found on Flickr? It wouldn't be fun unless there were a lot of people doing it though.... I'll have to think about it. The one I'm most interested in is One Object 365 Days, you can check it out by clicking here. I can think of a few people that would make it fun/funny (NAWSET!!!!!).
Christine > Day 143: Chives
May 23, 2009
I pretty much spent the late morning on my stomach in the front yard with my macro lens on. It was a good morning. :)

Christine > Day 145: Memorial Day - the Air Show @ Jones Beach
May 25, 2009
This photo was taken yesterday at the beach. The annual air show was held and it was amazing. I've been processing the 1500 shots I took for most of today since I got home too late last night to do much and am too sunburned to go outside. I set up a new gallery for some of the best plane shots. It was amazing to see!

Christine > Day 146: A World Record?
May 26, 2009
It is in my house. I can't go into a Target without spending over $50 (usually closer to $100 or more). Even when I go in with one item in mind, I still walk out of there with a whole bunch of junk I really didn't need. Tonight I went there with one item in mind. I purchased three, but I really did need the other two items (minty gum for fresh breath is an absolute MUST as is Olay Body Wash with Shea Butter- my dry skin gets itchy if I use anything but). Still, my total was below $15.00. Quite the accomplishment, if I do say so myself! The hubs will be surprised and thrilled. :)
Christine > Day 147: CPR Certification Renewal
May 27, 2009
Wow. Today could not have been more exciting. It was crazy busy all day at work and right after I left, it was off to the local hospital for a CPR course to maintain or renew my certification. This is the poor slob we practiced on. Pretty creepy, eh? Personally I like a man with fuller lips but I'm not one to complain. What did I learn tonight? I learned that if anyone becomes unresponsive in my presence (not including my husband's selective hearing), I'll probably freak out and forget what I have to do. I hope I never need to use this......
Christine > Day 148: Southampton Gate
May 28, 2009
Another busy day planned- not sure if I'll get out to shoot today so I took this yesterday in anticipation of being too busy to take a photo of the day. Slight cheat. I used a filter program recommended by Melissa - I downloaded the 30 day trial version to take it for a test drive. So far it's very user friendly and I like the results. I'm thinking of buying it. :)
