A Photo a Day (also known as Project 365) - What is it?? It's exactly what the name implies - a photo is posted each and every day for a full year. You can choose to impose whatever rules or criteria you wish- some photographers insist that the photo be taken the same day it's posted, others will post an older photo that they "Photoshop" the day they post it, and still others don't impose any rules at all. My goal for this project is to take several photos every day and choose the best from that day to post. I have been able to stick to it for the most part (with one or two exceptions so far). I carry my Nikon D300 wherever I go- it's now like one of my limbs. It's one of the most challenging things I've ever committed to doing but so far it's been well worth it. If you've got a minute to spare, go ahead and hit the slideshow button. And don't be shy about giving a photo a “thumbs up” or even commenting if you see something you like. :D

Lastly, for those visitors that aren't members of Smugmug, the photos posted to this gallery are critiqued by photographers that belong to the "Daily Community". If you click on the "DailyPhotos" link above (it's next to my name), you will be taken to a gallery with photos posted by other the members. There's a lot of beautiful work out there.... you can get lost for hours.

Christine > Day One, Cinnamon. January 1, 2009
Christine > Day one, cinnamon. January 1, 2009.
Christine > Day Two: January 2, 2009. I couldn't resist two photos today.
I find dark places most challenging so when I was invited to go bowling with my co-workers I jumped on it- I figured it would be great practice. To make matters worse, the most photogenic child in the alley is dark skinned which added to the challenge. A few photos into the night I switched to spot metering and can see the difference between this photo and the other photo of the same girl. Not necessarily the best lighting but I found her expressions too delicious to pass up.
Christine > Day Three: Italian Meatloaf, January 3, 2009
By far my favorite meatloaf on the planet. It's my Mom's recipe from back in the day. Anyone interested in the recipe e-mail me at christineslatteryfriberg@yahoo.com. It's delicious. ;)
Christine > Day Four: Olivia, January 4, 2009
Christine > Day Five: January 5, 2009
Equasion: OCD + Boredom + New Years Resolution to Not Eat Sugar = !

I have a full time job which makes it difficult to take a great photo every day in the winter. It was quitting time and I was frustrated - I had no idea what I could possibly photograph in the dark. My cat is really sick of the camera as is my husband. On the desk was a basket full of candies including little mini rolls of "Spree" candies. It suddenly hit me: why not photograph the candy? This is the result. I'd love to say I didn't eat any of them but I can't. :)
Christine > Day 6, January 6, 2009: Old Truck
Location: Jamesport, NY on the North Fork of Long Island
This is an old truck an old farmer used to sell his fruits and vegetables. I don't know why I love it so much but every time I passed it I would make a mental note to shoot it. Since I now carry my camera with me wherever I go, I did.
Christine > Day7: January 7, 2009 Tomatoes
Christine > Day 8, January 8, 2009
O'Puss, one of two of my cats- they're litter mates (brothers). Eat, pray love- it's the story of his life.
